What To Expect And What You Can Do
When someone reports you, they do not have to provide detailed information. If your family has been reported to CPS, they must determine if an investigation is needed. They do this in a few ways, including identifying and locating the child and understanding the relationship of the accused to the child, and the nature of the allegations.
If an investigation does take place, it will typically happen within 24 hours of the report being made. They will interview all family members and can request any medical or psychological exams they find necessary. Caseworkers are also required to explain the allegations that are being made. If they decide to remove your child, it is important to remain calm. You will then go to court where Marilyn Belew can help you make your case.
